Design Publishing Guidelines

December 9, 2025
in Knowledge Base
  1. COLLECTIONS (CATEGORIES)

Every clothing item must be assigned to all collections that apply. A single shirt can belong to four or more collections.

Assign collections based on:
A. Item Type

Shirt

Hoodie

Long Sleeve

Sweater

Unisex Shirt

Tank Top, etc.

B. Theme of the Design

Gods

Spirits

Creatures

Heroes

Myths

Folktales

C. Geographic Region (only if applicable)

West Africa

East Africa

North Africa

East Asia

South Asia

Europe

South America

North America

Caribbean

Oceania, etc.

D. Gender Fit

Unisex

Men

Women

Youth

Important:
Select ALL collections that apply.

  1. FIRST PARAGRAPH OF THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Every published item must begin with a neutral, simple, factual paragraph describing the being and culture.

This paragraph must include:

Who or what the being is

The culture it comes from

The region and country it is known in

A clear statement that the design on the shirt is inspired by this being or culture

Tone Requirements:

Simple

Clear

Neutral

NOT poetic

NOT dramatic

  1. DO NOT REPLACE STORE DESCRIPTION

When adding the first paragraph:

✔️ Add our paragraph at the very top as the first paragraph
❌ Do NOT delete or replace the existing store description

After pasting the new paragraph, leave one blank line, then keep the original description exactly as it is.

  1. TAGS (VERY IMPORTANT)

Tags help customers discover products. Proper tagging ensures visibility and prevents duplicates.

Tag Rules:
✔️ RULE 1 — Always search for existing tags first

Before adding any tag:

Use the store’s tag search

Check if the tag already exists

If the tag exists, select it

Do not create a duplicate tag

✔️ RULE 2 — Only create a tag if it does not exist

If the tag is NOT found:

Create it

Keep it short and clean

No long or messy tag names

Examples of good tags: Oshun, Yoruba, West Africa, Norse, Odin

✔️ RULE 3 — Use ChatGPT’s generated tags as your guide

When ChatGPT gives you a tag list:

Search for each tag

Reuse existing ones

Only add new tags when needed

✔️ RULE 4 — Keep tag spelling consistent

Examples:

Use Yoruba, not Yoruba People

Use Odin, not Odin God Shirt

  1. USING CHATGPT TO GENERATE THE FIRST PARAGRAPH + TAGS
  2. STEP 1 — Screenshot the shirt or design

Make sure the design is fully visible.

STEP 2 — Upload the screenshot to ChatGPT

Include:

The name of the being/god (if known)

The culture

The region/country

Any extra helpful information

STEP 3 — Paste the Official Prompt

Paste this below the image:

OFFICIAL PROMPT:
Product Title Create a clean, simple product title using the being’s name and the product type. Keep it short and clear. 2. SEO Page Title Write an SEO-optimized page title under 60 characters, including the being’s name, culture, and product type. 3. Meta Description Write a compelling SEO meta description under 155 characters summarizing the product and its cultural inspiration. 4. Cultural Paragraph (Main Description Add-On) Write one neutral, factual paragraph describing the being featured on the shirt. Explain who or what the being is, the culture it comes from, the region and country where it is known, and state that the design on the shirt is inspired by this being from that culture. Keep the tone clear and non-poetic. Only one paragraph. 5. Recommended Product Tags Generate a list of short, specific product tags based on the being, its culture, the country, region, theme (god, creature, spirit, hero, mythical figure), and any other identifiers useful for search and product discovery.

STEP 4 — Adding the Paragraph

Copy ChatGPT’s paragraph

Paste it at the top of the product description

Do not remove the existing description

STEP 5 — Tagging

With ChatGPT’s tag list:

Search each tag in the store

If found → select it

If not found → create it

Ensure consistent spelling

STEP 6 — Assign Collections

Select all relevant collections:

Item type

Theme (Gods, Spirits, Creatures, Heroes, etc.)

Region

Culture or country

Unisex (if applicable)

  1. STAFF CHECKLIST
    ✔️ Screenshot design
✔️ Upload to ChatGPT with info
    ✔️ Paste official prompt
    ✔️ Copy new paragraph
    ✔️ Add as FIRST paragraph
    ✔️ Keep original description
    ✔️ Search for tags first
    ✔️ Reuse existing tags
✔️ Create new ones only if needed
    ✔️ Assign all relevant collections

COLOUR VARIANT RULE (VERY IMPORTANT)

✔️ Only ONE colour variant should be published for each god or being.

Do NOT select multiple colour variants for the same design.

✔️ You may use the same design across different item types

Examples:

  • One design → Tshirt
  • One design → Hoodie
  • One design → Sweatshirt
    This is allowed.

But each item type must still use only one chosen colour.

✔️ Choose your colour before designing

  • Decide the shirt colour first
  • Then make sure the design colours match and print cleanly on that colour

✔️ Colours must be bold, single-colour only

  • Black
  • White
  • Red
  • Yellow
  • Royal blue
  • Forest green
  • Purple
  • Gold, etc.

❌ No mixed colours or multi-colour blends

  • No gradient shirts
  • No two-tone shirts
  • No washed/marbled textures

Simple, bold colours give the cleanest print and the best final product.
